These Terms govern your use of PaperGenius ("we", "our", "us"), a software-as-a-service platform that helps Pakistani teachers and institutes generate, share, and manage test papers. By creating an account or using the service, you ("you", "user") agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the service.
1. Eligibility & accounts
You must be 18 or older, or a registered legal entity (school, academy, institute), to create an account. You're responsible for everything that happens under your account, including the actions of teachers or sub-accounts you create. Keep your password safe — we'll never ask for it.
2. What we provide
- Tools to build, edit, and export test papers as PDFs;
- A shared question bank, plus a private bank scoped to your institute;
- Role-based access for super-admins, institute admins, and teachers;
- An audit trail of important actions;
- Bank-transfer billing for paid plans and downloadable invoice PDFs.
3. What you may not do
- Resell, sublicense, or whitelabel the service without our written consent;
- Use the service to generate harmful, hateful, or unlawful content;
- Attempt to bypass usage limits, rate limits, or role gates;
- Scrape, mirror, or systematically extract content from the service;
- Upload material you don't have the right to use.
4. Your content
You keep ownership of everything you upload — your questions, your branding, your tests. By uploading you grant us a limited licence to store, render, and deliver that content for the purpose of operating the service for you. We don't train AI models on your private question bank.
5. Our content
Sample questions, syllabi structures, and other content we provide (sourced from open educational resources and public board materials) are licensed to you for use inside the platform. You may use the resulting PDFs freely in your classroom — but please don't republish our shared bank as a competing product.
6. Plans, billing & cancellation
Paid plans are billed via bank transfer in Pakistani Rupees. After we receive and verify your payment, your plan is activated and an invoice PDF becomes available in your billing area. Plans renew only when you submit a new payment — there is no auto-renewal and no stored card details. You can stop using the service at any time; on the renewal date your plan downgrades to Free unless renewed.

7. Service availability
We aim for high uptime but the service is provided "as is" without uptime guarantees during this initial v1 period. Scheduled maintenance windows will be communicated in advance via the in-app notification system. We're not liable for losses caused by service interruptions, third-party outages (hosting, payment processing, SMS), or force-majeure events.

9. Termination
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, with notice where reasonably possible. You can delete your account from Profile → Delete account; we'll remove your data within 30 days, except where we must retain billing records for tax / audit purposes (typically 6 years per Pakistani tax law).
10. Liability
To the maximum extent allowed by Pakistani law, our total liability to you for any claim arising from the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.
11. Governing law & disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of Pakistan. Disputes will first be attempted via good-faith negotiation. If unresolved, courts of competent jurisdiction in Lahore, Punjab will have exclusive jurisdiction.
12. Changes
We may update these Terms when the service changes meaningfully. We'll show a banner in the app and update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page when we do. Continued use of the service after changes counts as acceptance.
